Face Of The Night: NYE

I am not actually celebrating NYE this year, as I have decided to stay in and focus on my university work. However, this hasn't stopped me doing a make up tutorial on how I would have done my make up.

I am not saying that I am amazing at applying make up, I just thought that this little post would give people some last minute inspiration on how they could do their NYE make up.

As usual I am wearing my beloved Estee Lauder foundation, this is my all time favourite foundation! It leaves such a natural glow with a medium-high coverage. As it is NYE I opted for more of a harsh contour (you can't really see it in the images). This can be created with the Bourjois bronzing primer, honestly, I can not fault this product. Used with the correct brush this is the most perfect contour cream that I have tried! In order to make my cheek bones more defined I still use my sleek palette, it defines my cheek bones and adds more texture to my face. In order to create the glow that everybody wants on NY, I have used my MAC mineralize skin finish in soft and gentle. The lighting doesn't pick it up properly, but when out, the light will catch the cheeks and highlight all the right places.

I have always liked a very simple look as I don't feel comfortable wearing a lot of eye make-up. I have gone for a more natural look using the Barry M pallet in Natural Glow 2. I absolutely adore this palette as there are so many different day time and night time looks that you can create. I tend to focus on the pinky shades as they leave such a natural shimmer to the eye, however, during the evening I blend this out with the darker shades which creates more of a smokey affect.

To brighten up the look, I opted for a red lip (typical for this festive season). I went for red because of how simple the eyes are. If I would have created more of a dramatic eye, a nude lip would have been used here.

What are you doing this NYE and how are you dressing for the occasion?
